General Responsibilities:
- Maintain the pool area in a clean, orderly fashion while assuring all pool safety rules and regulations are enforced.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure that the water is clean and safe for guests at designated hours. Should service and maintain swimming pools.
- Maintain the proper chemical balance for the pool.
- Maintains the pH and chlorine values for good water quality.
- Maintain the pool and all water features using proper chemicals and cleaners.
- Maintain the pool pumps and filters.
- Maintain the pool area including cleaning of the deck and other maintenance tasks.
- Keep the work area clean and tidy at all times.
- Install and service water cleaning, filtering and purification equipment which is used for maintaining the pools.
- Respond to swimming pool related work orders in a timely, friendly and efficient manner to assess and repair non-functioning machinery or equipment.
- Carry out any reasonable duties as instructed by the Assistant Security Manager.
- Supervises swimming activities at the pool and ensure that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed.
- Warns swimmers of improper activities or danger and enforces pool regulations and water safety policies.
- Administers first aid in the event of injury, rescues swimmers in distress or danger of drowning, and administers CPR and/or artificial respiration, if necessary.
- Evaluates conditions for safety and initiates pool emergency action plan as required.
- Instructs or assists classes in fundamentals of swimming as needed.
- Open the pool each day and close it down each evening, depending on schedule and hours
- Monitor pool-related activities closely throughout shift and identify any safety issues
- Direct swimmers out of the pool in hazardous conditions
- Monitor weather reports closely to ensure safety of guests
- Organize and oversee pool parties
- Maintain a clean environment in and around the pool
- Provide assistance to patrons when appropriate or necessary
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Lifeguard preferred
- Certification in CPR First Aid required
- Certification as a Lifeguard required
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- Highly responsible & reliable
- Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
